What I ate Wednesday March 26, 2025
I am almost at my wits end with all these GI issues I have been dealing with. The last two days completely wiped me out – literally. No other details needed, but I am sick and tired of feeling like this. I am really starting to wonder if it is dairy. This last incident happened after I tried the Vanilla Premier Protein Powder – which I think I put too much into my first shake. Thirty minutes later, I felt like that shake wanted to hurt me bad. After that, I decided to try to cut out the dairy. I hate to think that could be the culprit to all of this, but I woke up this morning feeling so much better and less verklempt from phlegm in my chest and throat.
This morning, I said screw it to all of the medication. I want to see what happens without it. I will continue to eat small meals through out the day and no more eating after 7:30 pm.
I also think the whole lying down after I eating was really doing a number on me during the bedtime hours. Since I’ve stopped that, I haven’t woken up coughing or had the early morning fits like before.
Breakfast
7:30 am: I woke up late (set my alarm for 4:30pm instead of am) and didn’t have time to make my lemon water. So far, all I have had is some Bigelow Throat Tea with 1 teaspoon of honey.
8:15 am: Busted into my Market Basket Teriyaki Beef Jerky and some dried apricots.
10:00 am: Started feeling a little hungry so I grabbed a handful of almonds. I’m also starting to feel a bit of a burn at the top of my stomach. I really don’t want to have to take the PPI, but I might just have to.
10:35 am. Feeling the burn and a pit at the top of my stomach. I don’t want to, but I think I’m going to have to take a dose of the Omeprazole at lunch.
Lunch
1:33 pm: I just clean out out the fridge and all I had left was some ham and berries. I’m trying to teach myself to slow down when eating. smaller bites and more chewing is said to help with the reflux. Also, I opted NOT to take the Omeprazole. Let’s see how that’s goes.
3:30 pm. Looking for a sugar rush. Glad I brought a packet of Gushers. Yes – still eat fruit snacks. I know they are all sugar, but they are a tasty 90 calorie sweet treat, and I’m not eating a bunch of gummy bears or Skittles.
Dinnah
7:00 pm: Had to work a little late and then picked upped Baby Girl at the gym, so we got home a little later than usual. She was very excited to see we were having breaded beef cutlets and fries for dinner. Along with some freshly sliced cucumbers, it was a nice nostalgic meal to eat at the table to and talk about our day.
That’s it – no sweets tonight. Honestly, I’m still exhausted from all the gut issues I’ve been dealing with for the past few days. It is definitely an early night tonight.
