Chocolate Marble Banana Bread

This was a delicious rendition of the normal recipe I usually make. Instead of the normal chocolate chips. I decided to incorporate the chocolate yumminess through the entire loaf.

Chocolate Marble Banana Bread

1 Cup Flour

1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda

1/2 Teaspoon Baking Powder

1/2 Teaspoon Salt

1 Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon

1/ Teaspoon Ground Ginger

1/8 Teaspoon Ground Nutmeg

1/3 Cup Brown Sugar

1/2 Cup White Sugar

3 Ripe Bananas

1/4 Teaspoon Ginger Paste

1 – 5.3 oz. Container Greek Vanilla Yogurt (I used Chobani)

2 Eggs

1/4 Cup Vegetable Oil

1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla

2 Tablespoons Chocolate Syrup, Plus 1 Tablespoon reserved for topping

1 Tablespoon Hot Fudge Sauce

2 Teaspoons Cocoa Powder

2 Tablespoons Chocolate Shavings (Optional)

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Sift the dry ingredients together in a bowl (first 9 ingredients).
  3. In a separate bowl, mash the bananas and add the wet ingredients, minus the chocolate syrup, hot fudge sauce and cocoa powder.
  4. Mix the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Reserve 1/4 of the batter and place the 1/2 of the remaining batter in a greased loaf pan
  6. Combine the reserved batter with the chocolate syrup, hot fudge sauce and cocoa powder.
  7. Place dollops of the chocolate batter randomly on top of the batter in the loaf pan.
  8. Pour the remaining batter over the dollops and top with additional dollops of chocolate batter.
  9. Swirl the two batters using a toothpick.
  10. Bake for 35 – 45 minutes or until the center springs back when lightly pressed upon.
  11. Remove from oven and drizzle with chocolate syrup and chocolate shavings.
