Chocolate Chip Marble Banana Bread
Is it breakfast? Is it dessert? Why not both?
Chocolate Chip Marble Banana Bread – Makes 1 Loaf
5 Ripe Bananas, mashed
1/4 Cup Vegetable Oil
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
1/2 Cup White Sugar
2 Eggs
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
1/4 Teaspoon Ginger Paste
1 Cup Flour
1/2 Teaspoon Baking Powder
1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1/4 Teaspoon Ginger
1/4 Teaspoon Nutmeg
1/8 Teaspoon Clove
3 Tablespoons Chocolate Syrup, plus some to drizzle on top after baking
1 Tablespoon Cocoa Powder
3/4 Cup Chocolate Chips
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F
- In a bowl, mix together the first 7 ingredients until fully combined.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and spices. Once sifted add the wet ingredient mixture to dry ingredients and combine until the flour is just mixed in.
- Separate about 1/4 of the batter and mix in the chocolate syrup and cocoa powder.
- Mix in a 1/4 cup of chocolate chips into each batter and reserve 1/4 cup to sprinkle on the top before baking.
- In a greased loaf pan, spread half of the the plain batter into a layer, and then add a few dollops of chocolate batter on top. Repeat until all the batter is in the loaf pan. Swirl the two batter together with a toothpick, then sprinkle the top with the remaining chocolate chips.
- Bake for 45 – 50 minutes or until center of the bread springs back when lightly pressed upon.
- Remove from oven and let sit for 10 minutes before releasing from loaf pan. Drizzle with chocolate syrup and enjoy!
