The Farm Bar and Grill
This was my first time checking out The Farm Bar and Grill in Essex, MA. Although not everyone in our party had a good experience, my first impression wasn’t too bad.
I started off with a Caramel Hot Toddy. It was tasty, but nothing about it said caramel. To me, it was a typical Hot Toddy.

Next I ordered the Fried Pickles with their house made Spiced Sauce. The flavor was good and the coating adhered well to the pickles. The color was a nice golden brown, but they could have been a little more crisper. The sauce was okay. I thought it could have used a bit more flavor, but the consistency was good. It wasn’t too runny or gloppy, but definitely could have been better with a bit more of a punch.

The last item I ordered was the Pulled Pork Poutine. This was by far the best thing that I ordered. The fries were crispy. The cheese curds were browned to perfection. The pulled pork was tender and moist. The gravy was flavorful and was excellent for dipping. This is something that I would absolutely order again.

Overall, it wasn’t a bad bad experience, but it wasn’t anything that really made me say, “WOW”. I will totally go back and give it another try. Maybe I’ll try the Mac and Cheese or a burger the next time around.
