Retail List for El Eden Import Distributor Corp Recalls Ineligible Pork Cracklings Products Imported from The Republic of Colombia
On September 9, 2026 El Eden Import Distributor Corp., a Long Island City, N.Y. firm, is recalling approximately 264 pounds of potato chip products containing chicharrón (pork cracklings) because they were produced in the Republic of Colombia, a country that is not eligible to export meat products to the United States, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. FDA Releases FY 2024 Pesticide Residue Monitoring Report
Today, the FDA made available its annual Pesticide Residue Monitoring Program Report for Fiscal Year 2024, summarizing findings from FDA testing of human and animal foods for 781 different pesticides and selected industrial compounds from Oct. 1, 2023, through Sept. 30, 2024.
New FDA Investigations of Foodborne Illness Outbreaks
This week’s updates are:
- A new outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes (ref #1415) linked to a not yet identified product, has been added to the table. FDA has initiated traceback
- A new outbreak of E. coli O26:H11 (ref #1419) linked to raw milk cheese, has been added to the table. On September 25, 2026, the manufacturer of the raw milk cheese issued a voluntary recall. On September 25, 2026, FDA issued an outbreak advisory and has initiated traceback.
- For the outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 (ref #1421), the case count has increased from 25 to 38. FDA has initiated sample collection.
- For the outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes (ref #1417), the case count has increased from 40 to 44.
- For the outbreak of Cyclospora (ref #1392), the case count has increased from 234 to 235.
- For the outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes (ref #1379), the case count has increased from 10 to 11.
- For the outbreak of Clostridium botulinum (ref #1383) linked to powdered infant formula, FDA’s outbreak investigation has closed.
